Scroll down a bit for our list of this week's new releases and reissues.

The annual No Response Festival of experimental music returns this week with an amazing lineup! Tickets are available for both nights at Shake It.

Coming up next Friday, June 29th:

A signing with acclaimed local cartoonist Carol Tyler, launching her new book Fab 4 Mania, an illustrated memoir based on her ecstatic teenage diary documenting the time she saw The Beatles in Chicago in 1965.

We'll have live music to celebrate, with local singer Krystal Peterson and guitarist Travis Talbert performing a short set in tribute to The Beatles. Hoping to convince Carol to sing a song or two...

Wussy's brand new What Heaven Is Like is here!
The CD and LP are now both in, so if you haven't stopped by the shop or put in an online order we are still waiting to hear from ya!

On What Heaven Is Like, Wussy continue their longstanding tradition of combining supernatural tales and workaday anthems, with inspirations that range from the monsters of urban legends to late-night public television viewing. The new record builds on the momentum of their prior two releases Attica! and Forever Sounds, with sonic and melodic nods to Springsteen, Mercury Rev, Unrest, Neu! and The Replacements, with songs at once devastating and hopeful. Highlights include a ballad for a beloved television heroine, a pair of covers by Kath Bloom and Twinkeyz, and a three-song suite inspired by Charles Burns' brilliant and ever-timely graphic novel Black Hole.

If you can't make it to the store, our online shop is open and eager to ship one to you! All previous Wussy albums are still in stock on CD and LP if you need to round out your collection.

Shake It is extremely honored to be selected the #2 Record Store in the U.S. by Yelp! Thanks to our customers for all those great reviews that got us on the list. See Yelp's entire list of the best U.S. and Canadian stores here. A big congrats to Ohio pals Plaid Room Records of Loveland and Spoonful Records of Columbus, who also made the list!
