Shake It Update 6/01/18: New Releases From Father John Misty, Ghost, Neko Case & More
We've got new releases here this week from Father John Misty, Ghost, and Neko Case.
But those are just the highlights, so scroll down a bit for our list of this week's new releases and reissues.
Wussy's brand new What Heaven Is Like is here! Look for the CD in stores throughout the USA on Friday, May 18th! The LP will be a little behind the CD, in mid-June. We will keep ya posted.
On What Heaven Is Like, Wussy continue their longstanding tradition of combining supernatural tales and workaday anthems, with inspirations that range from the monsters of urban legends to late-night public television viewing. The new record builds on the momentum of their prior two releases Attica! and Forever Sounds, with sonic and melodic nods to Springsteen, Mercury Rev, Unrest, Neu! and The Replacements, with songs at once devastating and hopeful. Highlights include a ballad for a beloved television heroine, a pair of covers by Kath Bloom and Twinkeyz, and a three-song suite inspired by Charles Burns' brilliant and ever-timely graphic novel Black Hole.
If you can't make it to the store, our online shop is open and eager to ship one to you! You can pre-order the vinyl edition now too, and of course we have the previous Wussy albums in stock on CD and LP.
Shake It is extremely honored to be selected the #2 Record Store in the U.S. by Yelp! Thanks to our customers for all those great reviews that got us on the list. The annual No Response Festival of experimental music returns in June with an amazing lineup.
