NEW ON THE SITE:  G LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE

G. LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE 's SUPERHERO BROTHER combines both political and
party songs; the album is a reflection of the band's eclectic recipe for its Special Sauce
-- from tasty, post-hip-hop Beatles-influenced blues-rock, spicy tropical island rhythms,
and well-seasoned funk-rock to sweet, blue-eyed Philly soul, Superhero Brother brings
the booty, with a little bit of social commentary tucked into the mix.

Ron Sexsmith*Exit Strategy of the Soul
“On his latest album Exit Strategy of the Soul, Ron Sexsmith expands his musical canon with vaulted
yet direct string arrangements and sweeping horn sections, resulting in a work equal in musical
breadth and emotional depth. Recorded in both the cold of classical London and the sweaty flamboyance
of Havana, Cuba, the album is a study of the beauty that can come from the heartfelt melding of seemingly
contrary ideas, be they musical, cultural or emotional. In the career of Sexsmith, Exit Strategy of the
Soul is at once a culmination and a precipice, a work that feels as complete as it does an artistic jumping-
off point. ”

My Brightest Diamond*A Thousand Shark's Teeth
“A Thousand Shark's Teeth is a musical snowglobe that sparkles each time you touch it.  The songs,
whose themes broach intimacy, kisses by moonlight, laundry, lost friendship and more, marry vast
instrumentation - marimbas, harps, clarinets, French horns, rabid guitars, vibraphones to name a few -
to create an unequaled amalgamation of style and color.  In simple terms:  it's beautiful, and there's
nothing else quite like it. ”

Coldplay*Viva La Vida
“ ‘Viva La Vida' is the fourth studio release for Coldplay. The album comprises 10 brand new tracks,
recorded in London, Barcelona and New York with producers Brian Eno and Markus Dravs. The
album features the singles ‘Violet Hill' and ‘Viva La Vida.' ”

Supergrass*Diamond Hoo Ha
“SUPERGRASS is back. A fantastic new album entitled Diamond Hoo Ha, a brand new home on
Astralwerks, and a sixth studio album showcasing the youthful energy and witty musical stylings
of these Britpop pioneers featuring, "Diamond Hoo Ha Man", "Bad Blood" and "Rebel In You".  On
tour with the Foo Fighters in July. ”

The Watson Twins*Fire Songs
“For those who grew acquainted with the sounds of the Twins when they helped turn Jenny
Lewis' more-or-less first solo effort into an artistic coup de grace, you will rejoice with the mix
of sunshine and crunch on Fire Songs. - Filter
Fire Songs spans the breadth of the pair's abilities, coupling their knack for unshakable chorus
hooks with delicate harmony.” - Performing Songwriter

Folks always ask about the YEE-HAW prints (like the Hank Williams, Sr, Carl Perkins, Loretta
Lynn, - all those hangni' back in the Americana room) so we thought we would hook up with them
& bring in some of their beautiful, handmade Letterpress cards. We'll be adding some newer card
lines shortly cos people keep asking for more.... we're just looking for unique stuff that other folks
don't carry cos what's the point in that? We'll see how these go & maybe we'll bring in some of
their larger prints.

Orchestra, Nigeria 70, Pete Rock, Cedric Brooks and much more.

John Mayer - Where The Light Is: Live In Los Angeles 2xCD/DVD/4xLP+MP3 ( Columbia )
Recorded in December 2007, John performs a one-of-a-kind concert featuring 22 songs made up
of three distinct sets: an acoustic performance, a rare set with John Mayer Trio, and a set featuring
his full band. Vinyl includes MP3 download.

Ron Sexsmith - Exit Strategy Of The Soul CD (Yep Roc)
On his latest album, Sexsmith expands his musical canon with vaulted yet direct string arrangements
and sweeping horn sections, resulting in a work equal in both musical breadth and emotional depth.
Recorded in both the cold of classical London and the sweaty flamboyance of Havana , Exit Strategy
Of The Soul is a study of the beauty that can come from the heartfelt melding of seemingly contrary
ideas, be they musical, cultural, or emotional. Available for audition in one of our listening stations.

Los Lonely Boys - Forgiven CD/LP+MP3 (Epic)
Third studio album from the self-described "Texican Rock 'n' Roll" band.

Earlimart - Hymn And Her CD (Shout! Factory)
After going through personnel changes, Earlimart was pared down to co-leaders Aaron Espinoza
and Ariana Murray. Locking themselves in the studio to write and record an album in just four weeks,
they emerged with a record whose urgency and immediacy reflects their powerful live shows.

Patti Smith & Kevin Shields - The Coral Sea 2xCD (Pask) On order -in later this week!
Legendary artist Patti Smith and My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields release a double-disc set of
these live performances from 2005 and 2006. The Coral Sea is Patti Smith's posthumous homage
to her friend and photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Shields accompanies her on guitars and
effects and creates a haunting backdrop to the spoken prose. File under: Patti Smith/ My Bloody
Valentine.

The Baseball Project - Vol. 1: Frozen Ropes And Dying Quails CD (Yep Roc)
Rock & roll vets Scott McCaughey (The Minus 5, R.E.M., Young Fresh Fellows) and Steve Wynn
(The Dream Syndicate) have an unhealthy love for music undermined only by an even more unhealthy
love of baseball. Here they collaborate for a passionately funny and sarcastically irreverent
commentary on the state of the sport, providing a hip soundtrack to the backstage party at America 's
game. Fellow teammates include drummer Linda Pitmon (Miracle 3, Golden Smog) and R.E.M.'s Peter
Buck. Includes the hit single "Ted F#cking Williams."

Leila - Blood, Looms & Blooms CD (Warp)
Graduating from Aphex Twin's Rephlex label to Warp, UK producer/DJ Leila pulls out all the stops
on her new album, incorporating everything from deep techno to post-modern hip-hop and classic
soundtrack styles, as well as collaborating with chanteuse (and muse to Tricky and Danger
Mouse) Martina Topley-Bird. CD now, vinyl soon.

Alkaline Trio - Agony & Irony CD/2xCD/LP+MP3 (Epic)
Having traded 99.9 percent of their once bountiful indie-credibility for major label fortune has yielded
mixed reactions from longtime fans. Yet many have steadfastly argued that it's the music that matters
-- not how it is marketed. Anyway, now they're hyping Hot Topic's new online social networking
site as well as selling their own line of Nike sneakers. Acceptable maneuvers? You decide. Limited
edition version includes a bonus acoustic CD and a 24-page booklet in a deluxe slipcase. The vinyl
includes an MP3 download (in today or Weds) For a limited time, all formats come with a bonus pic
sleeve 7" of "Help Me" with an acoustic version of Tegan & Sara's "Wake Up Exhausted" on the flip.

Current 93 - Black Ships Heat The Dance Floor CDEP+DVD DualDisc (Durtro Jnana)
Limited edition DualDisc. The audio side contains remixes by J.G. Thirlwell (Foetus) and Matmos. The
DVD side contains two videos directed by independent filmmaker Cam Archer -- "The Beautiful
Dancing Dust" featuring vocals by Antony (Antony & The Johnsons) and "Black Ships Ate The Sky"
with vocals by David Tibet.

Nurse With Wound - Huffin' Rag Blues CD (Durtro Jnana)
Unlike any Nurse With Wound album in recent memory, Huffin' Rag Blues veers into lounge/space-
age bachelor pad territory. Guest vocalists Lynn Jackson and Freida Abtan channel Peggy Lee,
while Matt Waldron (irr. app. (ext.)) also lends his golden pipes to one song. This is exotica as
imagined by the twisted genius of Steven Stapleton.

Nachtmystium - Assassins: Black Meddle Part 1 CD (Century Media)
Step into the world of psychedelic black metal madness! Available for audition in one of our l
istening stations.

Cute Lepers (The Briefs) - Can't Stand Modern Music CD (Blackheart Records)
Power pop-infused punk rock band from Seattle , formed by The Briefs' vocalist/guitarist Steve
E. Nix. The Cute Lepers' debut combines the attitude of punk with stylish mod and pop sounds.
Available for audition in one of our listening stations.

SJ Esau - Small Vessel CD (Anticon)
The sophomore album from Bristol rock collagist -- genre-bounding compositions featuring a cast of
collaborators melding diverse moods and styles into one buoyant, bold and cohesive whole. It's both
utterly post-modern and curiously epic, despite humble means. CD now, vinyl soon.

John Matthias - Stories From The Watercooler CD (Counter/Ninja Tune)
A suite of twelve short, lyrical folk songs composed with violin, harmonium, banjo, clarinet and
monophonic synthesizers. Produced by Coldcut.

Jay Reatard - Singles 06-07 CD+DVD (In The Red)
A collection of all his out-of-print material -- remastered by the Tard himself. It's finally possible
to hear these gems in one straight shot without tripping over a pile of seven inch platters. Includes
a DVD showcasing some choice live performances of Reatard and his incredible live backing band,
The Boston Chinks. CD now, vinyl soon.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Medium Rare CD (Big Rig)
Three brand new songs and ten previously unreleased rarities from the recently reunited
ska band.

Relient K - The Bird And The Bee Sides CD (Gotee)
Thirteen new songs (AKA The Nashville Tennis EP) plus thirteen tracks of rarities, demos,
acoustic versions and more.

Various Artists - Eccentric Soul: The Tragar & Note Labels 2xCD (Numero)
Lost for thirty years among the kudzu and Coke bottles of central Georgia , the Tragar and
Note labels are the latest Numero Group unearthings to join the landmark Eccentric Soul series.
Containing 50 tracks spread out over two discs (with a lavish 32-page booklet), it's a
ridiculously thorough survey of Jesse Jones' twin labels that operated out of Atlanta from
1968-1977. File under: Old School.

It's Casual - Buicregl CD (Friendly Hills Recording Company)
Reissue of their debut CD with bonus tracks and cover art. Initial quantities include a bonus
Buicregl/Bullet Treatment split seven-inch. Just came off dates with Fu Manchu, Pelican and Black
Cobra. Available for audition in one of our listening stations.
